Title
The Effects of a Prehabilitation Exercise Program in Adults Receiving a Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant
Objective
The primary aim is to compare changes in physical functioning measured via the six minute walk test (6MWT). Additionally, changes in fatigue, transplant-related symptoms, quality of life, mood, sleep, physical activity behavior, musculoskeletal biomarkers, and body composition between groups pre to post intervention as well as additional follow-up treatment-related complications during the time from transplant till +100 days post-transplant will be measured.
A secondary aim is to determine the safety, feasibility, and acceptability of prehabilitative (pre-treatment) exercise in hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients prior to hematopoietic hematopoietic stem cell transplant.
