Assessment of Histologic and Prognostic Features of Low Grade Advanced Stage Endometrial Carcinoma
Features to be evaluated in both the sample and control groups include age of patient, tumor stage, grade, size, depth and pattern of invasion, the percent of solid component, vascular invasion, necrosis, and papillary component will be studied in the primary tumor of both groups. For the metastatic cases, the location of metastasis, grade of the invasive component, and number of vessels involved if vascular invasion is present will be studied. Estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, and p53 immunohistochemistry will be performed on the primary tumor, and if possible, on the recurrence/metastases. Additional factors to review are the length of time between initial presentation and recurrence/metastases as well as the type of treatment initially performed.
