Title
Observational Study to Determine the Differences in Molecular Characterization between Smokers vs. Non-smokers in Patients with Stage IV Bladder Cancer and their Correlation with Clinical Outcome
Objective
Primary
To determine mutational differences (frequency and mutational burden) in patients with stage IV bladder cancer with regards to their smoking status ( smokers vs. non ?smokers)
Secondary
To determine the histo-pathological differences of the tumor between smokers vs. non-smokers with stage IV bladder cancer.
2. To compare the difference in disease control rate to the initial 4-6 cycles of platinum based chemotherapy (which would include complete remission/ partial remission/ stable disease) between smokers vs. non-smokers with stage IV bladder cancer
3. To determine the anaplastic lymphoma kinase (Alk) gene rearrangement status by Immunohistochemistry (IHC) in patients with stage IV bladder cancer (this will be obtained via IHC staining of already available FFPE tissue if funding for the testing is secured.)

Urinary Bladder
